Katherine Chancellor, First Lady of Genoa City, Dies

This will be the third time that In Memoriam will recognize the passing of a fictional person.

Katherine Chancellor Murphy has died at age 84.  She leaves behind a great legacy and a great place in everyone's hearts.  She is survived by her husband of four years, Patrick Murphy, Sons Brock Reynolds of New Orleans and Tucker McCall of Hong Kong, Grandchildren Devon Hamilton of Genoa City and MacKenzie Hellstrom of Washington D.C. as well as Great-Grandson Dylan Hellstrom also of Washington D.C., Stepchildren Phillip Chancellor III of Melbourne, Australia, Danny Romalotti and Gina Roma, Goddaughters Victoria Abbott and Chloe Fisher both of Genoa City and Ashley Abbott of New York City, Stepgrandchildren Phillip "Chance" Chancellor IV and Daniel Romalotti and stepgreat-grandchild Lucy Romalotti.  In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by husbands Gary Reynolds, Phillip Chancellor II and Rex Sterling, stepson Francis Murphy and beloved friend John Abbott, Sr.,

As a longtime businesswoman and well respected member of the community she leaves behind several dear friends including Ms. Jill Abbott Fenmore, Mr. and Mrs. Cane Ashby, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Newman, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Baldwin, Ms. Esther Valentine, Mr. Mitchell Sherman, Esq., Mr. William Abbott, Mr. Kevin Fisher, Mr. Neil Winters and Mr. John Abbott, Jr.

She first came into our lives in November 1973 and she stayed there for 40 years....according to the headstone shown in 2008 when she was believed to be dead (it was really Marge) she was born on October 25, 1928....the same birthday as her portrayer.  It is a shame she can't return from the grave once again...I couldn't possibly cover everything that went on in a characters life that appeared for 40 years but I do know that some well known stories are the ones involving her struggles with alcohol, Jill, and her many husbands.

As much as I don't want to do this....here it goes....
