September 21, 1931 - November 23, 2012 As far as legacies go his can be summed up in different television roles: Major Anthony Nelson and J.R. Ewing... From 1965 to 1970 he co-starred with Barbara Eden in "I Dream of Jeannie" and from 1978 to 1991 he starred as evil oil baron J.R. Ewing on "Dallas."  In 2012 he returned to television as J.R. in a continuation of the original series.  He also brought the J.R. character to the spin-off series "Knots Landing" for five episodes between 1980 and 1982.    During his long career his made appearances in several other places.  On television he appeared on "Goodyear Playhouse", "Search for Tomorrow", "Kraft Theatre", "The DuPont Show of the Month", "Sea Hunt", "The United States Steel Hour", "The Edge of Night", "The Defenders", "Love, American Style", "Barnaby Jones", "McMillan & Wife",

Born: April 9, 1923 He was a crucial part of the original Desilu team....as the film editor he made sure that those wonderful "I Love Lucy" episodes came out crisp, clean and and wonderful.  Also during his career he worked with Orson Welles and on "The Beverly Hillbillies."  He left us two days ago on November 21st at the age of 89. Remembering the cast and guest stars from "The Golden Palace" The show began on September 18, 1992 and ran for 24 episodes before ending on May 14, 1993.  Show star Betty White (Rose Nylund) is still with us (thank goodness) at age 90.  Cast members Don Cheadle (1964-), Cheech Marin (1946-) and Billy L. Sullivan (1980-) are also still with us.  Sadly beloved cast members Rue McClanahan (Blanche Devereaux) and Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo) have passed away in recent years, Getty in 2008 and McClanahan in 2010. Born: November 4, 1918 His body of work was impressive...to say the least.  He covered it all - radio, stage, television and film...he received Emmys and an Oscar for his work... To millions of fans he will always be that happy go lucky sewer worker Ed Norton from Jackie Gleason's brilliant creation "The Honeymooners."  He played the character on "Cavalcade of Stars" (1951-1952), "The Jackie Gleason Show (1952-1955, 1956-1957), "The Honeymooners" (1955-1956), "Jackie Gleason and His American Scene Magazine" (1962, 1966) and the second version of "The Jackie Gleason Show" (1966-1970).  He returned for five specials, the first in 1973 and the remainder between 1976 and 1978.  All in all, a marvelous actor with a great talent for both comedy and drama...
