Happy 100th Birthday! Remembering the cast of "The Honeymooners" (1955-1956) [742]

 "The Honeymooners", created by the marvelous Jackie Gleason, was featured on several different programs in the 1950's and 1960's and also showed up for some TV specials in the 1970's.  The 30 minute sitcom version was only on the air for one television season (1955-1956) producing 39 episodes which are now known as "The Classic 39."  It began on October 1, 1955 and ended on September 22, 1956.  Here is a look back at the cast and the "Gleason Players" which were a wonderful group of talented character actors that Gleason always used to bring his projects together.  The main cast: Jackie Gleason (1916-1987) -Ralph Kramden, success seeking Brooklyn bus driver Art Carney (1918-2003) -Ed Norton, happy go lucky sewer worker, best friend to Kramden Audrey Meadows (1922-1996) -Alice Gibson Kramden, Ralph's long suffering but loyal wife of many years ***** Joyce Randolph (1924- ) -Trixie Norton, Ed's less patien

February 19, 2013 marks the 44th anniversary of this lady's passing. Born: May 31, 1899 She was a very busy character actor in Hollywood in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's.  She appeared in numerous films however most of her appearances were uncredited.  1952's Singin' in the Rain featured her as Dora Bailey, once again an uncredited but memorable part.  Some other film appearances include The Long, Long Trailer and Please Murder Me.  On television she made appearances on several programs including "Racket Squad", "Beulah", "The Public Defender", "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show", "The Ray Milland Show", "Four Star Playhouse", "Cavalcade of America", "Private Secretary", "December Bride", "G.E.True Theater", "Lassie", "Bachelor Father", "The Bob Cummings Show", "Dennis the Menace", "The Gale Storm Sh

Remembering the supporting cast of "Batman" (1966-1968) [732]

"Batman" was on the air from January 1966 until March 1968 and during its two year run it produced 120 episodes.  The stars of the show, the terrific trio Adam West (84), Burt Ward (67) and Yvonne Craig (75) are still with us at the time of this post.  They were Batman, Robin and Batgirl, respectively.  The following is a list of performers who made up their team of allies. "Our Miss Brooks" began on radio in the late 1940's with Eve Arden in the title role.  The show moved to television in 1952 and finally audience could see what the wacky Madison High School looked like.
