Two very important performers passed away on July 9th.

Veteran movie and television character actor Charles Lane (January 26, 1905) died on this day in 2007.  It would be impossible to try and list all of his screen credits...he was on everything from "I Love Lucy" to "The Burns and Allen Show" from "Green Acres" to "Mister Ed" to "Bewitched" to "Maude" to "Soap" and a lot in between.  Some film credits include It's A Wonderful Life, Miss Grant Takes Richmond  and many many others.  I must note that the actor lived to be 102 years old, that is simply amazing - in 2005 he was honored at the TV Land Awards for his 100th birthday and upon accepting his award he remarked "If you're interested, I'm still available."

The wonderful Isabel Sanford (August 29, 1917) died on this day in 2004.  She is best remembered as the sassy Louise "Weezy" Jefferson on "All in the Family" from 1971 to 1975 and of course as one of the main stars of "The Jeffersons" from 1975 to 1985.  One of her major film credits happens to be the iconic Spencer Tracey-Katharine Hepburn film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner in 1967.  After the conclusion of "The Jeffersons" she continued to take character parts and would often reunite with Sherman Hemsley (her on screen husband) for commercials and other projects.  In February 2004 the duo was featured at the TV Land Awards accepting an award....she left us a few months later.
