Today would've been the 105th birthday of a wonderful character actress that worked along side some of film and television's best. Her first film role was as a voice actor in the 1941 Disney film Dumbo. Her other film credits include The Curse of the Cat People, A Double Life, Prison Warden, Beyond the Forest, Stopover Tokyo and The Great Race... On television she is best remembered as Jim Anderson's (Robert Young) secretary Miss Thomas on "Father Knows Best" and as boarding house owner Ma Smalley on "Gunsmoke." Her other guest credits include "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show", "The Ford Television Theatre", "Four Star Playhouse", "I Love Lucy", "Fireside Theatre", "Dragnet", "Studio 57", "My Favorite Husband", "The Hardy Boys", "Cavalcade of America", "Jane Wyman Presents the Fireside Theatre", "The Gale Storm Show", "Wagon Train", "The Rifleman", "The Real McCoys", "Maverick", "Zane Grey Theater", "Lassie", "The Barbara Stanwyck Show", "The Dick Powell Theatre", "Pete and Gladys", "The Jack Benny Program", "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet", "The Twilight Zone", "Honey West", "Bonanza", "Perry Mason", "Green Acres", "Dragnet 1967", "My Three Sons", "Petticoat Junction", "Family Affair", "Adam-12" and "Rhoda."
