Bert Remsen (February 25, 1925 - April 22, 1999)

During the early years he spent ten years performing in summer stock. He made his first film appearance in 1959 and went on to appear in more than two dozen productions including The Strawberry Statement, Fuzz, Baby Blue Marine, Eye of the Tiger, Only the Lonely and Maverick just to name a few... On television he appeared on such programs as "Suspense", "The United States Steel Hour", "Maverick", "Tales of Wells Fargo", "Letter to Loretta", "Perry Mason", "Peter Gunn", "Rawhide", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Leave it to Beaver", "77 Sunset Strip", "The Lloyd Bridges Show", "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour", "The Dick Powell Show", "The Fugitive", "Hazel", "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "Peyton Place", "The F.B.I.", "Ironside", "Columbo", "Police Woman", "Charlie's Angels", "Wonder Woman", "CHiPs", "Hart to Hart", "Remington Steele", "Matlock", "Melrose Place" and "Clueless." The performances that stand out the most for me are the ones he made on "Knots Landing", "Dynasty" and "Dallas." On "Knots Landing" he played on a con artist that swindled the sweet but simple Lilimae Clements (Julie Harris). His work on "Dynasty" portrayed him as a horse caregiver in charge of a horse belonging to Krystle Carrington (Linda Evans). On "Dallas" he played a bitter wildcatter named Harrison "Dandy" Dandridge who befriends a depressed Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval). A lot of Dandy reminds Cliff of his late father and he decides to give him the financial backing and moral support that his father never got. Eventually it is discovered that Dandy's property contains the largest natural gas field in the state of Texas. His final television role was on "The Pretender" on February 27, 1999 and his final film, The Sky is Falling, was released in 2000 a year after the actor's passing...
