Born: November 6, 1914

A star of stage, screen and television....

The earliest television, going back to "The Chevrolet Tele-Theatre" in 1949.  Other early television appearances include "Lights Out", "Goodyear Playhouse", "Climax!", "Zorro", "Father Knows Best", "G.E. True Theater" and "The Twilight Zone."  He appeared regularly on "The Third Man" from 1959 to 1965 and on "The Bill Dana Show" from 1963 to 1965.  He made his true mark on television as Dr. Zachary Smith on "Lost in Space" from 1965 to 1968.  Later television appearances include "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir", "Get Smart", "Bewitched", "McMillan & Wife", "Love, American Style", "Sanford and Son", "Vega$", "Battlestar Galactica" and "Fantasy Island."

In the 1990's and 2000's he began providing voices on several animated television shows including "Superman" and "Spider-Man."  He can be heard in A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2. 

He passed away on November 3, 2002, three days before his 88th birthday.
