A fine actor was born on this day 106 years ago...

His film career began in 1938 and he went onto appear in such projects as Brother Rat, The Fuller Brush Girl, The Longest Day and The Longest Yard.

On television he starred in "Leave it to Larry" in the 1950's and from 1965 to 1971 he played Oliver Wendell Douglas on the hit rural sitcom "Green Acres."  He also brought his character to "Green Acres" sister shows "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction."

Some other television credits include "Robert Montgomery Presents", "The Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse", "Climax!", "Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse", "Playhouse 90", "Wagon Train", "The Love Boat", "Murder, She Wrote" and "Falcon Crest."  His time on "Falcon Crest" reunited him with his Brother Rat co-star, Jane Wyman.  His final guest role (and acting project) was as the voice of Ben the museum curator on "Extreme Ghostbusters" in 1997.  He passed away on May 26, 2005...

Happy Birthday!
