She appeared on such programs as "Hallmark Hall of Fame", "G.E. True Theater", "Robert Montgomery Presents", "Sunday Showcase", "The United States Steel Hour", "The Edge of Night", "The Untouchables", "The DuPont Show of the Week", "The Defenders", "Bonanza" and "The F.B.I."
In 1970 she began playing the role of Ruth Martin on the daytime soap opera "All My Children." She remained with the program until she semi-retired in 1996. The role was filled by Lee Meriwether. The actress returned to the role briefly in 2000 before retiring completely. Meriwether retrurned to the role until the show's end in September 2011.
She died on September 8, 2011
