July 26, 1895 & July 26, 1909

One of the first funny ladies in history was born on this day 115 years ago. Born in 1895 she came from a group of entertainers and broke into Vaudeville in the 1920's. By the end of the decade she was working with her husband, George Burns. They went on to be giants on radio and later television...known for her child like innocence and amazing delivery she will be beloved forever. She passed away on August 27, 1964 after a long battle with heart disease... The woman who helped to perfect the role of TV sidekick was born on this day in 1909. She played Ethel Mertz on "I Love Lucy" and Vivian Bagley on "The Lucy Show" but also appeared along side other legends such as Bob Hope, Merv Griffin, Charles Laughton, Jane Wyman, Mike Douglas, Joan Rivers, Red Skelton and Dinah Shore....her career spanned from the 1920's to the 1970's....she died on August 17, 1979...
