Dan O'Herlihy

His life began on May 1, 1919... 1947 brought films his way and in 1948 he played Macduff in the Orson Welles production of William Shakespeare's MacBeth. His other film credits include The Blue Veil, Operation Secret, Robinson Crusoe, MacArthur (as FDR) and RoboCop along with RoboCop 2. On television he was featured most notably on "The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters" from 1963 to 1964 and on "The Long, Hot Summer" in 1966 replacing Edmund O'Brien who left after a brief time on the show. His other credits include "Cavalcade of America", "Climax!", "Lux Video Theatre", "Jane Wyman Presents the Fireside Theatre", "Letter to Loretta", "Kraft Television Theatre", "General Electric Theater", "The DuPont Show with June Allyson", "Playhouse 90", "The Untouchables", "The United States Steel Hour", "Bonanza", "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour", "Ben Casey", "Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre", "The Defenders", "Dr. Kildare", "The Big Valley", "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", "Ironside", "Hawaii Five-O", "Charlie's Angels", "Trapper John, M.D.", "Remington Steele", "Murder, She Wrote", "L.A. Law", "Father Dowling Mysteries", "Twin Peaks" and "VR.5." His final film appearance was in 1993's Love, Cheat & Steal... In 1995 he provided the voice of Grant Walker, a Mr. Freeze-obsessed theme park owner, on an episode of "Batman: The Animated Series." All though Walker only appeared in that one episode it is greatly remembered by all fans of the series - certainly me included. His final acting role was in 1998 in the TV movie "The Rat Pack" in which he played Joe Kennedy, father of President John F. Kennedy... The Lord called him home on February 17, 2005...
